Let's Dish: The Smoky Hudson

Lapsang Souchang is a tea with an amazing, warming smoky quality that pairs really well with orange and a chilly day. Best. Tea party. Ever.



2 oz Lapsang Souchang-infused vodka
1 oz fresh-squeezed orange juice
1 oz honey syrup
Dried blood oranges (we get ours at Olive Connection)


Here’s what to do:

To infuse the vodka: combine half a bottle of vodka (375 ml) with 2-3 tea bags in a non-reactive container, giving it a shake periodically. Since the tannins in tea can quickly turn an infusion bitter, sample periodically. Tea infuses very quickly, so you may need only a couple of hours for a full infusion.

Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled ⅔ with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a dried orange slice floated on top. Enjoy!
